AGAINST FORGETTING – GIVING UP IS NOT AN OPTION!

The Trauerwache Deutschland is a public memorial gathering followed by a funeral march. It is dedicated to the collective remembrance of people who have lost their lives to acts of violence since 2015, particularly as a result of terrorist attacks, assaults, or other serious violent crimes involving asylum seekers or refugees.

At its heart is the dignified commemoration of the victims. The aim is to give them, symbolically, a face and a voice, especially as many of their stories have received little public or media attention to date.

At the same time, the Trauerwache Deutschland also offers relatives, survivors, and emergency and rescue personnel the opportunity to share personal thoughts and memories in public. It also seeks to create a space for compassion, solidarity, and hope.

Its goal is to pause together, offer comfort, and set a visible and unifying sign of remembrance.

The mourning marches of Trauerwache Deutschland have commemorated the victims since 2015
