The “Trauerwache Deutschland” is a public gathering with a closing funeral procession. This gathering is dedicated to those who lost their lives through acts of violence since 2015 – especially through assassinations, targeted attacks or extreme acts of violence. 

This event puts the focus on remembering and gives it a symbolic voice and face. Many of those affected were not mentioned in the media or in our society. In this event, relatives of those affected, emergency service workers, rescue workers, as well as survivors are given the opportunity to share their thoughts and stories.  

The event provides a space for compassion, unity and hope. The aim is to take a moment together to reflect on these tragedies, offer comfort to those affected, and to create a unifying symbol of remembrance.
